In April 2025, we made our regular monthly visit to the Lac Thien Orphanage, bringing a van loaded with essential food and general supplies. After coordinating our arrival with the dedicated caretakers, we were warmly welcomed by everyone at the orphanage. The children were wonderful helpers, eagerly assisting in carrying the provisions from the van into the courtyard.

This month’s delivery included staples such as packages of milk, bags of rice, sugar, boxes of ramen, and cooking oil, along with fish sauce and various seasonings for their meals. We also brought essential hygiene and cleaning supplies, including diapers, bar soap, body wash, toilet cleaner, and detergent, as well as other general toiletries.

A special treat for the children on this visit was scoops of delicious ice cream served on cones!

This heartfelt visit and all the donated supplies were made possible through the incredible generosity of our kind donors: Bichlien Nguyen, Alysha Sims, Thi Nga Luong, Koshu Takatsuji, Kateryna Lo, Daniel Cole, Ha Phuong Nguyen, Littlechad Newfield, and Jef O’Riley. We also received a thoughtful donation from Jamie Tran in memory of Hue Hao Nguyen. Our deepest thanks to everyone!

About the Lac Thien Orphanage

The story of the Lac Thien Orphanage, founded in 2006, is rooted in compassion. Located north of Nha Trang within the serene grounds of the Phat Buu pagoda in Ninh Hoa district, the orphanage began in a truly touching way. One quiet day, a baby was discovered left at the pagoda’s gates. The compassionate nuns took him in, and since that day, they have opened their hearts and home to orphaned children from the surrounding area.

Under the dedicated guidance of the pagoda’s nuns and Head Nun Chon Minh, the Lac Thien Orphanage provides a nurturing haven for approximately 30 children, ranging from newborns to teenagers. Their vital work relies entirely on the kindness of others, primarily receiving donations from the local community. Beyond caring for children, Lac Thien also extends its embrace to elderly individuals who lack family support.
