Our monthly visit to the Suoi Cat Charity Home took place in April 2025. We arrived with a van full of much-needed food, general supplies, and a few special surprises. Prior to shopping, we spoke with the dedicated caretakers to ensure we purchased exactly what the home needed most. Everything was sourced from local markets before being loaded up and driven out to the home.
This month’s delivery included a wide assortment of provisions: numerous types of ramen and noodles, eggs, milk, and various seasonings like sriracha and oyster sauce, along with rice paper, soft drinks, and snacks. We also brought essential personal care and cleaning items such as shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, brooms, laundry buckets, and dust pan sets, plus educational items like music books and school supplies.
For a moment of fun, our volunteers mixed up a special treat – boba tea drinks for everyone!
We are incredibly grateful for the support that made this visit possible. Thank you to Steven Burger for your kind donations!
About the Suoi Cat Charity Home
Located in Suoi Cat, a rural community west of Nha Trang marked by poverty among its farming families, the Suoi Cat Charity Home provides a nurturing haven. It houses and cares for numerous adolescent and teenage girls whose families face significant challenges in providing for them.
These girls reside at the home year-round, sleeping in dormitories and sharing meals in a communal dining hall. The home is lovingly managed by nuns and caretakers from the nearby Suoi Dau Catholic Church, who create a supportive environment. They ensure the children attend local public schools and supplement their education with after-school tutoring.
The same dedicated caretakers previously supported young boys at the Suoi Dau Charity Home. While those boys now live with their families, some continue to receive tutoring at the Suoi Cat home during the day before returning home in the evening.
