On June 22, 2017 we bought an industrial-sized rice cooker for the new charity school in Khanh Son district. We recently helped fund a charity home and school in the mountains of Khanh Son. Located far to the southwest of Nha Trang, Khanh Son is a rugged mountainous region with scattered farming villages, all in poverty. Sister Huong and several other nuns founded the home and school for the children of the poor communities in the region. It is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Some of the children stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns provide a nurturing environment for all, ensure the children attend local public schools, and offer free daycare, kindergarten, and after school tutoring lessons.
As Sister Huong continues to supply the home, we are happy to continue our efforts to provide for the children’s education. To cook meals for a large group of children several times a day, they needed an industrial-sized rice cooker. We brought them a brand new one, and the children were eager to help set it up and test it out.
This charity trip was sponsored by Bill Green and Dell Computers. Thank you!!!
