In February 2021 we had a lovely visit with the children at the Phu Quang Orphanage. We wanted to bring the Lunar New Year to these wonderful children, so coordinated with the nuns and arranged a visit. Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, and this time of the year also sees prices on everyday goods spike. We ensured the orphanage had everything they needed in terms of essential supplies, and brought some fun Tet surprises for the children.

After doing all the shopping, our team loaded up a truck and drove north to Phu Quang. The children helped carry everything into the main common room. For the orphanage, we brought bottles of cooking oil, bottles of vegan fish sauce, packages of dry bamboo shoots, packages of vegan pork, and sweet rice.

For Tet, we brought aloe drinks and lots of traditional snacks and treats. Our team then handed out frozen treats and balloons to the children. It was a very fun visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations of Daniel Cole, Suruchi Khemka, John Dwyer, Khoa Huynh, KTD Services LLC, and the PayPal Giving Fund. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage was a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang is a small orphanage, and cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment.
