In January 2024 we had a wonderful visit with the children at the Dai An Orphanage. In addition to bringing food and general supplies for the month, we wanted to do something special to celebrate Tet, the Lunar New Year, with the orphans. We coordinated with the caretakers and made arrangements for a fun visit.
When our team arrived, the children were excellent helpers and carried all the supplies from the vans to the courtyard. On this visit, we brought fresh vegetables, pork, ground pork, meat pies, canned fish, seasonings, sausages, racks of eggs, quail eggs, sriracha, toothpaste, laundry detergent, diapers, and cleaning products.
To celebrate Tet, our team of volunteers handed out red envelopes of lucky money to all the children and the caretakers. We also brought lots of traditional Tet sweets and treats. We finished the visit with popsicles for everyone. It was a lovely day!
This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Sharon Kelly, Stephen Milne, Scott Huynh, and Bichlien Nguyen. Thank you!!!
