In January 2024 we had a wonderful visit to the Hy Vong Home for Disabled Children. We had spoken to the caretakers ahead of time and arranged to bring lots of food and general supplies for the month. We wanted to do something special for the children, as the Tet Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam. Our team of volunteers made all the arrangements and drove out to see the children.

When we arrived, the children were playing in the courtyard. We unloaded the van and stacked all the supplies in front of the home. On this visit, we brought milk, siracha, sweet rice, penne noodles, canned beef, seasonings, yogurt, ramen, sugar, beef, spring rolls, fresh fruit, laundry detergent, and dish soap.

To celebrate Tet, each child got new clothes to wear to welcome the Year of the Dragon. We also prepared care packages for the children to take home to their families with traditional Tet sweets and treats. There were lots of smiles!

This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations from Julie Nelson, Hiep Nguyen, and through the kindness of a family in the USA. Thank you !!!
