In September 2021 we arranged to have lots of fresh food brought to the Phu Quang Orphanage. With COVID lockdowns still in effect, the orphanage receives very few visitors these days. That means less food and other donations. We spoke with the head nun and made a detailed list of items they were in need of, then coordinated with local markets to have it all delivered.

The children helped carry everything into the main common room, and everyone gathered around. We brought bags of rice, boxes of instant noodles, instant pho, chili sauce, vegan fish sauce, seaweed, varieties of mushrooms, cooking oil, soy sauce, fresh milk, fresh vegetables, school supplies, and a small bicycle.

The little ones were excited to test out the new bicycle and took turns riding around the courtyard. So fun! This wonderful gift was made possible through the kindness of a family in the USA. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for about 15 children in a loving environment.
