This April, we returned to Thien An Charity Home for another heartwarming visit with the children. Following a consultation with the caretakers to identify their most pressing needs, we arrived with a van packed to the brim with essentials—and one very colorful surprise for the playground.

Restocking the Pantry

We believe in providing more than just the basics. This month’s delivery focused on a mix of nutritious staples, hygiene products, and treats for the kids:

  • Staples & Proteins: Rice cakes, vermicelli noodles, eggs, canned meats, and instant noodles.
  • Dairy & Nutrition: Baby formula, fresh milk, condensed milk, and yogurt.
  • Seasonings: Salt, sugar, and fish sauce.
  • Snacks: Sausages and various treats.
  • Hygiene & Home: Hand sanitizer, wipes, washing powder, garbage bags, and plastic storage bins.

Breathing New Life into the Ball House

The home’s beloved ball house had seen better days; years of play had left the pit nearly empty and full of cracked plastic. When the caretakers mentioned their dream of restoring it, our team jumped at the chance.

We delivered four massive bags overflowing with vibrant new plastic balls. The moment we unleashed them, the children dived in—literally! Seeing them frolic in a sea of color was a beautiful reminder of why we do this.

A Sweet Ending

No visit is complete without a celebration. To cap off the day, we set up a sundae station featuring various ice cream flavors, crunchy cones, and plenty of chocolate sauce. The result? A lot of sticky faces and even more “messy” smiles.

A massive thank you to our donors Steven Burger and Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Your generosity makes these moments of joy and stability possible. We couldn’t do it without you!

ABOUT THE THIEN AN CHARITY HOME AND SCHOOL

This loving place is located in the hilly countryside of Khanh Hoa province. There are very few schools in this region and illiteracy among children is high. The local Thien An Catholic Church sought to help the children complete their schooling, so started the Thien An Charity Home and School. The children have housing accommodations and receive their meals in a communal dining hall. Classrooms have been set up so the children can all receive the education they richly deserve.
