In November 2017 we visited the Loc Tho Charity School and Orphanage with our monthly supply of healthy food. The nuns of the Loc Tho pagoda run a free primary school for poor children in the community whose parents cannot afford the costs of a public education. Textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and teachers’ fees are all paid for by the school, and all children are welcome. The school offers breakfast and lunch, and the pagoda also cares for orphans.
To ensure the children’s meals are nutritious, we bring healthy supplements every month. We brought packages of soy products, bags of tofu, packages of yogurt, meat cakes, bags of mushrooms, seasonings, rain ponchos, and fun snacks. The children took a break from their studies, filed into the dining area, and dug into their yummy treats.
These monthly visits are made possible through the ongoing kindness of Lloyd and Esther. This monthly trip was a special one in that Lloyd and Esther travelled down from their home in Danang for the visit. They met with our team of volunteers, talked with the nuns of Loc Tho, and visited with the children. It was a very fun visit!
Thank you for continuing to support the children’s health!
