In November 2024 we sponsored health checkups and vaccinations for the children at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. We also purchased some new medications and cabinets and restocked all of the orphanage’s medicine and first aid supplies. We had reached out to the nuns and asked if there was anything special they had coming up this month. They said they had arranged for a team of doctors and nurses to come out to the orphanage to give all the children checkups and vaccinations. They also said their medications were running low. We were happy to fund all of it!

On the day of the visit, the children gathered in the common room and one by one had their turn for a checkup and vaccinations. Such brave little ones! The nuns also sent us some pictures of the newly stocked medicine cabinets. As a reward for the children, the orphanage had a special cookout with traditional Vietnamese “banh xeo” pancakes. It was a wonderful day!

This project was funded by Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, and an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
