In March 2024 we brought lots of food to the Phu Quang Orphanage. We had coordinated with the head nun about the orphanage’s needs this month and arranged to have lots of essential food delivered from local markets. The children were excellent helpers and carried everything into the common room.
This month, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, bottles of cooking oil, and packages of milk. The head nun also sent us many pictures of the children from last month, including field trips, nature hikes, and fun pictures of the orphanage’s new dog. So many smiles!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE
The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment. Sister Thich Nu Dieu An passed away in 2023, and the orphanage is run by the nuns of the Phu Quang pagoda.
