In September 2022 we had a special visit to the Thien Tam Orphanage. It’s the beginning of the school year, and the combined education costs can be a burden for the orphanages. We reached out to the caretakers and said that we would sponsor all of the education costs for the 2022-2023 school year. They were so happy! These costs include buying school uniforms, textbooks, backpacks, shoes, school supplies, and paying school fees.
Every month, we also bring a supply of food and general provisions, and on this visit, our team brought bags of rice, bottles of cooking oil and soy sauce, seasonings, sugar, milk, yogurt, garlic, fresh vegetables, pork, body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies.
Several children had birthdays this month, so we had a combined start-of-the-schoolyear and birthday celebration. We brought cakes and presents for the children, then had a big lunch for everyone. The children had lots of fun posing for pictures in their new school uniforms. It was a lovely day!

ABOUT THE THIEN TAM ORPHANAGE
Founded in 2004, the Thien Tam Orphanage lies 20 minutes south of Nha Trang’s city center, in Phuoc Dong ward. The orphanage is run by Nguyen Dinh Chi and his wife Nguyen Thi Kim Lien. A former orphan himself, Chi set up the orphanage in his home as a place of love and sanctuary for orphans in the community. They currently care for 13 young children.
