In June 2024 we completed a big electrical project at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. The orphanage has expanded over the last 10 years, adding new sleeping quarters, kitchens, classrooms, and bathrooms. It has done all of that with a very outdated electrical system that saw multiple crashes every year. When we asked the nuns at Nhan Ai if they had any large projects that we could help with, they told us of the orphanage’s many electrical issues.

The solution was to install new main lines from the electric poles outside the orphanage, then re-wire all the rooms. The nuns were overjoyed when we said that we would fund the entire project! It took several weeks and finished in mid-June. On the first days of the project, the nuns sent us some fun pictures of the children welcoming the workers. When everything was finished, they sent pictures of the children having celebratory milkshakes on the orphanage steps.

This big project was made possible through generous donations from Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, Shaun Minn, an anonymous donor, and the Kinghurst Foundation. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
