In November 2021 we had a wonderful visit with the children at the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children. Due to COVID travel restrictions, our team of volunteers have not been able to visit in person to Thua Sai for many months. We were thrilled to learn that our team would be able to visit once again.
We coordinated with the nuns and made a big list of items they were in need of. Our team then loaded up a van and drove out to the home. The children were just finishing lunch we we arrived, and everyone filed into the common room as we began to stack all the supplies. On this visit, we brought packages of instant pho, dried shrimp, seasonings, milk, fresh pork, cooking oil, floor soap, dish soap, detergent, brooms, toothpaste, and a hand sanitizer dispenser.
Everyone was so happy to see each other after a long absence. As a fun treat for the children, we handed out sweet breads all around. It was such a fun visit!
This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations of an anonymous donor and a family in the USA. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE THUA SAI HOME FOR DISABLED CHILDREN
Located in a peaceful country setting in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang, Thua Sai offers a home and school for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. The nuns and caretakers teach the children in classrooms on the grounds, and it is a loving home to these wonderful children.
