In early June 2019 we visited the Hy Vong Home for Disabled Children. Hy Vong is a loving home for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. There are children with cerebral palsy, autism, as well as deaf, mute, and blind children being cared for at the home. Located in the countryside to the southwest of Nha Trang, the nuns at Hy Vong provide for the children and offer a nurturing home.
We contacted the nuns to learn of their immediate needs and organized a visit. On this trip, we brought 4 wall-mounted fans to keep the children cool in the summer months, bags of rice, boxes of noodles, bottles fish sauce, bottles of cooking oil, milk, seasonings, laundry detergent, fresh fruit, and snacks.
After helping to carry everything into the courtyard, and children enjoyed some fresh watermelon slices while our coordinator, Mai Khanh, got to work installing the fans. It was a lovely visit!
This charity trip was made possible through the kindness of a family in the USA.
Thank you!!!
