In December 2022 we had a fun end-of-year visit to the Ngoc Van Orphanage. Our team had reached out to the nuns who run the orphanage and asked what food and other provisions they were running low on this month. After getting a detailed list of items, we went to local markets, bought everything on the list, and made the long drive north to the orphanage.
The children helped stack everything in the main common room, then everyone gathered together. On this visit, we brought boxes of instant noodles, seasonings, sugar, bottles of cooking oil and fish sauce, milk, fresh vegetables, snacks, and diapers.
We handed out balloons to the children to play with, then our team cut up slices of sweet cake for everyone to share. It was a lovely day!
This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations from An Nguyen, William John, Susan Papuga, and Elaine Nguyen. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE
Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
