In February 2022 we had a great visit to the Anh Dao Orphanage. We had reached out to the nun and learned of the orphanage’s most pressing needs. Our team bought all the provisions at local markets, loaded up a truck, and drove north into Ninh Hoa.

The children helped carry everything into the main common room and stacked it all up nicely. On this visit, we brought bags of rice, boxes of noodles, bags of mung beans and black beans, canned fish, sugar, bottles of cooking oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, and siracha, seasonings, lots of fresh vegetables, vegan meat pies, tofu sheets, vegan pork, mushrooms, and racks of eggs.

They brought out chairs for all the children to sit, and our team handed out sweet mung bean and banana cakes. So yummy!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Paul Baty, Fred Sims, Philip Doughty, Geneva Palatini, Bichlien Nguyen, Hung Pham, Vanessa Nguyen, Alysha Sims, and Minh Nguyen. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
