In February 2024 we had a fun visit to the Thien Tam Orphanage. We had reached out to the caretakers and learned what items the orphanage needed for the month, then made a plan to visit. Our team of volunteers bought everything on the shopping list at local markets, loaded up a van, and drove out to the orphanage.
When we arrived, the children helped stack all the provisions in the courtyard. On this visit, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, pork, fish, shrimp, milk, yogurt, bread, cheese, apples, sugar, seasonings, soy sauce, fish sauce, cooking oil, and siracha.
We also had a fun surprise on this visit. One of the children recently had a birthday and our team arranged to have a birthday cake, decorations, and presents for everyone. There were lots of big smiles!

ABOUT THE THIEN TAM ORPHANAGE
Founded in 2004, the Thien Tam Orphanage lies 20 minutes south of Nha Trang’s city center, in Phuoc Dong ward. The orphanage is run by Nguyen Dinh Chi and his wife Nguyen Thi Kim Lien. A former orphan himself, Chi set up the orphanage in his home as a place of love and sanctuary for orphans in the community. They currently care for a small group of adolescents.
