In May 2021 we had a fun visit with the children at the Phu Quang Orphanage. We worked with the nuns at the orphanage and made a detailed list of their current needs. Our team of volunteers went shopping at local markets, loaded up a van, and drove out to the orphanage.
Upon our arrival, the children were excellent helpers in carrying everything into the main common room. On this visit, we brought fresh fruits including watermelon, grapefruit, and oranges, fresh vegetables, siracha, rice paper, bamboo shoots, seasonings, milk, boxes of instant pho, packages of meats and vegan meats, sausages, and toiletries.
As a treat for the children, we handed out dried fruit snacks to everyone. It was a very fun visit!
This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donation of Chau Nguyen. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE
The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment.
