In late February 2019 we had a fun trip to the Suoi Cat Charity Home. Suoi Cat is a poor community to the west of Nha Trang, composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Cat Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The home is composed of young children and teenage girls, who stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The children attend public school and receive tutoring and extra lessons at the home.
We contacted the caretakers about their immediate needs, loaded up a truck with supplies, and made the drive out to Suoi Cat. The girls were very helpful carrying in the boxes to the home’s common room. On this trip we brought dried shrimp, packages of seasonings, bottles of soy sauce, fish sauce, chili sauce, and cooking oil, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and snacks for the children.
The girls gathered in the common room and munched on their snacks, and our team spent some time with the children and the caretakers.
This charity trip was sponsored by Dane Sawmiller, Elaine Nguyen, Gary Tsui, Rita Marinucci, and Daniel Cole.
Thank you!!!
