On February 19, 2017 we visited the Sunflower Orphanage with gifts and essentials. Sunflower is located in the heart of Nha Trang, and cares for a large number of teenage orphans. Sunflower’s sister orphanage, Dai An, is located in the countryside, and cares for younger orphans. Sunflower is very well organized, and has separate quarters for the girls and boys, and a designated facility for just the high schoolers. We got in touch with the caregivers about the orphanage’s needs, and brought lots of items.
Our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, brought her team to the orphanage when all of the children were home. For essentials, we brought boxes of noodles, bags of beans, cooking oil, laundry detergent, dish soap, bathroom supplies, and snacks. As special gifts for the children, we brought brand new clothes, including fun hoodie sweatshirts, blouses, and t-shirts. The children were quick to put on their new outfits. It was a fun day for everyone!
This visit was made possible through the donations of the McDuffie family. Thank you!!!
