In January 2022 we brought the Lunar New Year to the Khanh Son Charity Home. Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, and we wanted the children of the Khanh Son charity home and their families to enjoy some of the wonderful traditions. The nuns at the Home arranged with the children’s families to cook two delicious Tet sticky rice cakes, banh Tet and banh chung. Wrapped in banana leaves and tied with twine, these are yummy holiday delicacies.

We also provided care packages as gifts to these poor families, consisting of a bag of rice, box of noodles, bottle of fish sauce, and traditional sweets and drinks for a Tet party. It was a lovely occasion for this community!

This charity visit was made possible through the kind donations of Thuc Phan, Hung Pham, Leah David, and Thu Ly of Li Handmade Masks. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE KHANH SON CHARITY HOME

Located in the mountainous area to the southwest of Nha Trang, the Khanh Son Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Some of the children stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns provide a nurturing environment for all, ensure the children attend local public schools, and offer free daycare, kindergarten, and after-school tutoring lessons.
