On August 17, 2018 we had a big visit to the Nhan Ai Orphanage. Located in Cam Ranh to the south of Nha Trang, Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we support. The nuns at Nhan Ai provide a loving home to over 120 children, from newborns to teenagers.
At the beginning of every school year it’s a struggle for the orphanage to raise the funds needed to support the children’s education. Each child must buy their own textbooks, school supplies, school uniforms, fitness uniforms, backpacks, shoes, and pay school fees. In addition to supporting the education of all Primary, Secondary, and High School orphans, the nuns at Nhan Ai encourage the children to continue on to either university or vocational school afterwards, and continue to support the children’s education.
After receiving a detailed breakdown of all the costs, we were more than happy to help! We provided all the textbooks and school supplies, all school uniforms, backpacks, shoes, and other fees for all the orphans, from grade 1 through university. The children helped stack everything in the main courtyard, sang us a fun song, and many of the children tried on their new school uniforms. We handed out balloons and ice cream treats to everyone, and the children had lots of fun!
