On September 9, 2017 we brought school books and school supplies to the Kim Son Charity School. Kim Son has long provided free primary schooling to the children of poor families in the area. Located in a large compound in the countryside to the north of Nha Trang, the children attend classes with accredited public school teachers, at no cost. Normally, parents must buy new school uniforms, textbooks, backpacks, shoes, school supplies, and pay school fees. At Kim Son, ensuring the children have an education is paramount, and everything is free.
With the new school year starting, the nuns at Kim Son are raising money to pay all the costs for the children’s education. We were very happy to buy all new textbooks and school supplies for the children. The school had an opening day ceremony, and our team stayed until the first recess when the children went outside to play in the courtyard.
