On July 12, 2013 we organized a visit to the Phu Quang Orphanage. We were contacted several months ago by Nancy Wines of Australia. She and her family were going to be visiting Nha Trang and wished to make a heartfelt visit to an orphanage. Upon contacting Sister Dieu An we learned that the orphanage badly needed funds to buy school books for the children for the new term beginning in mid-August. Our Team Leader, Ngoc, organized everything, and in the morning of July 12th went with Nancy to local bookstores.
In the afternoon they all went to the orphanage with boxes of schoolbooks, notebooks, supplies, and snacks for the orphans. Joining Nancy and Ngoc were Nancy’s daughter and our volunteers Loan and Ngan. They handed out the schoolbooks and spent time with the children.
It means so much to the orphans to have this gift! Our thanks to Nancy and her family for making this possible!
