In October 2022 we made our first visit to the Thien An Charity Home and School. Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the home cares for about 30 young children, overseen by a loving group of nuns. Our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, learned about this place from exploring the region. We reached out to the nuns and asked if we could visit with food and general supplies. They were so nice!

Our team took the shopping list to local markets and bought everything the nuns had asked for. When we arrived, the children were in the dining hall, and we handed out snacks to the little ones. Next, everyone gathered on the front steps next to all the supplies.

On this visit, we brought bags of rice, bottles of cooking oil, racks of eggs, condensed milk, fresh milk, sausages, soy sauce, sugar, packages of ramen, seasonings, packages of glass noodles, dried baby shrimp, lots of fresh vegetables, lots of fresh fruit, laundry detergent, hand soap, hand sanitizer, dish soap, toiletries, and cleaning products.

It was a great first visit! This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from JL Support Services. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE THIEN AN CHARITY HOME AND SCHOOL

This loving place is located in the hilly countryside of Khanh Hoa province. There are very few schools in this region and illiteracy among children is high. The local Thien An Catholic Church sought to help the children complete their schooling, so started the Thien An Charity Home and School. The children have housing accommodations and receive the meals in a communal dining hall. Classrooms have been set up so the children can all receive the education they richly deserve.
