Hungry minds need wholesome meals to thrive! This July, our team made a special trip to Loc Tho Charity School with one clear goal: ensuring every student has access to nutritious, delicious food throughout the school day.
Rather than guessing what the school needed, we worked directly with the staff beforehand to curate a custom grocery list tailored precisely to their kitchen’s daily demands.
Thanks to our dedicated community, we delivered a full haul of kitchen essentials, including:
- Pantry Staples: Rice, cooking oil, seasonings, sugar, and vegetarian fish sauce.
- Fresh Ingredients & Proteins: Assorted meats, fresh mushrooms, milk, and seaweed.
- Quick Meals & Basics: Instant noodles, dishwashing liquid, and pre-prepared dishes.
After unloading the supplies in the central courtyard, we spent some quality time with the children. The team whipped up fruit juice for everyone during their study break—a sweet treat that brought bright smiles across the entire lunch hall!

ABOUT THE LOC THO CHARITY SCHOOL
The Loc Tho Charity School, established in 1991 by Sister Thich Nu Dieu Y, has a long-standing history of providing free education to underprivileged children. Sister Dieu Y dedicated her life to this cause, and after her passing in 2014, the compassionate nuns of the Loc Tho Pagoda have continued her incredible work.
This primary school offers a vital service to the community, providing a free education for children whose families cannot afford public schooling. The school covers all expenses, including textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and teachers’ fees, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn. Beyond academics, Loc Tho Charity School also provides breakfast and lunch for its students and offers a nurturing home for several orphans and foster children.
