This November, our team had a truly rewarding and essential visit to the Lac Thien Orphanage! We successfully delivered a substantial volume of food and crucial supplies directly to the children and caretakers.

Working hand-in-hand with the orphanage staff beforehand, we compiled a precise list of their most pressing needs. Our volunteers then efficiently procured all the necessary staples from local markets, loaded up a van, and headed straight for the delivery.

The children greeted us with enthusiasm and were quick to help, happily pitching in to stack everything in the main courtyard! This month’s donation was comprehensive, including bags of rice, noodles, mushrooms, cooking oil, milk, seasonings, diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.

To top off a productive day, our volunteers shared sweet treats, bringing smiles to every face.

This entire effort was powered by your incredible kindness! A heartfelt thank you to all our generous donors for making this vital contribution possible: Autumn Mejia, Littlechad Newfield, Roger Puckett, and an anonymous donor. Your support directly sustains these children. A huge thank you for your support!

ABOUT THE LAC THIEN ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2006, the Lac Thien Orphanage is part of the Phat Buu pagoda and lies north of Nha Trang in Ninh Hoa district. The orphanage’s origins are endearing. On a peaceful day, a baby was left at the gates of the pagoda. The nuns cared for him, and from that day on they have taken in orphan children from the area. The orphanage is run by the nuns of the pagoda and its head nun, Chon Minh. They rely entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. There are about 30 children at the orphanage, from newborns to teenagers, and Lac Thien also takes in elderly whose family cannot care for them.
