In April 2021 we were very happy to help fund new solar panels at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. The nuns at Nhan Ai had done a detailed analysis of their monthly electricity costs and tried to find a way to save money. It is a large orphanage with many children of all ages in its care, and there are several buildings in the compound.
The nuns discovered that installing solar panels would greatly reduce their monthly electricity bills, and put together a proposal for adding panels to the roof of the main building. We contributed to a portion of the installation, which finished this month.
In addition to sending us pictures of the completed solar panel project, the nuns also sent lots of fun pictures of their Easter celebration with the children. First, they played fun games in the courtyard, then had a feast in the dining hall. It looked like such a great time!
Our contributions to this wonderful project were made possible through donations from the family of Dr Chad & Kim-Loan McDuffie and their children Delaney, Keagan & Anderson. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE
Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home.
