A new charity home and school has opened in the mountainous region of Khanh Son. This project was organized by Sister Huong, and we have worked with her on a number of other projects to help this impoverished region, including opening a water factory, helping poor families, and sponsoring small businesses and farms. Located far to the southwest of Nha Trang, Khanh Son is a rugged mountainous region with scattered farming villages, all in poverty. Sister Huong and several other nuns founded the home and school for the children of the poor communities in the region.
It is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Some of the children stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns provide a nurturing environment for all, ensure the children attend local public schools, and offer free daycare, kindergarten, and after school tutoring lessons.
It took many months, but Sister Huong successfully completed her project, and Lovingkindness Vietnam was happy to provide a contribution to the efforts.
Our contribution to this inspiring project came from the McDuffie family of the USA. Thank you!!!
