On January 22, 2015 we brought new backpacks to the Loc Tho Charity School and Orphanage. This trip was sponsored by Richard and Marjorie of the USA in their continued support for the children’s education. While being both a pagoda and orphanage, Loc Tho is also a free primary school for children in the neighborhood who could not otherwise afford public school. The children all receive free books, uniforms, and supplies through donations. Richard and Marjorie have sponsored numerous charitable contributions to Loc Tho’s cause, and continue their kindness into the new year.
Loc Tho has grown over the years, and the school now has over 130 students. To usher in Tet, the lunar new year, each student at the school was given a new backpack. Our coordinators Ngoc, Loan, and Nhan also brought a stack of comic books, which the children immediately dove into! It was a very fun visit.
