In early October 2020 we had a fun visit to the Dai An Orphanage. We had reached out to the caretakers to learn of the orphanage’s immediate needs. Our team bought lots of essential supplies at local markets, then made the drive out to Dai An.

On this visit, we brought bags of sweet rice, packages of sausages, boxes of dry squid, fresh vegetables, bottles of cooking oil, clothing hangers, mops, and dish soap.

It’s the time of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam, which has many lovely traditions that are specific to children. We wanted the orphans at Dai An to have a fun holiday experience, so we handed out paper lanterns, moon cakes, and traditional sweets to all the children. After putting their lanterns together, the children waited until the sun set, lit the candles inside, and paraded about the courtyard with their glowing lanterns. Such fun!

This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations of Sharon Kelly, Stephen Milne, and Scott Huynh. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE DAI AN ORPHANAGE

The Dai An Orphanage is located in Cam Ranh district, south of Nha Trang, and cares for approximately 30 young children. It was founded by the same church that runs the Sunflower Orphanage in Nha Trang. Dai An is in a tranquil countryside locale and has a large facility for the children to grow and play. The caretakers provide a nurturing and loving home for these amazing children. There are also classrooms in the orphanage to provide the children with extra tutoring after school.
