In December 2023 we brought lots of supplies to the Anh Dao Orphanage, then had a lovely lunch with the children. We had coordinated with the head nun and wrote down the food and general provisions the orphanage needed this month. On the day of the visit, our team loaded up a van and made the drive north into Ninh Hoa.

We stacked everything in the main common room, and the children came out to greet our volunteers. On this charity trip, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, sausages, dried squid, fish pies, sugar, tofu sheets, vegan beef, vegan pork, racks of eggs, seasonings, bamboo shoots, seaweed, spices, cooking oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, chili sauce, and many fresh vegetables.

After playing with the children, our team went into the kitchen and prepared a big feast. Our team joined the children in the dining hall, and everyone had a delicious lunch. It was a wonderful day!

This large charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Julie Nelson, Thomas Hilton, David and Trini Nguyen, Linh Lam, Vanessa Nguyen, Alysha Sims, Songloc Dao, Koshu Takatsuji, Daniel Cole, and Vien Lam and Kevin Spring. Thank you !!!

ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
