In February 2026 we contributed to a noble mission that has become an annual tradition. Our lead coordinator in Nha Trang, Mai Khanh, gets together with many of her friends at the Lunar New Year every year, and goes into the countryside to bring joy to poor families in rural communities. Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, but prices on everyday goods skyrocket, making the holiday a struggle for poor families.
This year, they arranged to have 85 care packages given to families in Cam Lam, a rural community to the south of Nha Trang. Each care package included a bag of rice, a box of noodles, seasonings, soy sauce, fish sauce, yogurt, sugar, soda, and Tet sweets. They also brought lots of popsicles to hand out to children in the neighborhood.
The team set up a base of operations and arranged for a representative from each family to come claim their care package. There were so many smiles! Afterwards, our team rode their motorbikes around the neighborhood, bringing gifts to families and handing out popsicles to smiling children. It was a wonderful day!
Our contribution to this wonderful mission was made possible through the kindhearted donations from Carolyn Chau-Kha. Thank you!!!
