In July 2023 we brought lots of food to the Phu Quang Orphanage. We had reached out to the orphanage caretakers and asked what provisions we could provide for the month. They gave us a detailed list, and we arranged for local markets to have everything delivered directly to the orphanage. The children were excellent helpers and carried all the bags and boxes into the main common room.
For this month, we provided bags of rice, bottles of cooking oil, boxes of ramen, milk, packages of noodles, chili sauce, laundry detergent, backpacks, and school supplies.
The caretakers sent us some fun pictures of the children playing and having snacks together. This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from David and Trini Nguyen, Hung Pham, Linh Lam, Vanessa Nguyen, Fred Sims, and Alysha Sims. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE
The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment. Sister Thich Nu Dieu An passed away in 2023, and the orphanage is run by the nuns of the Phu Quang pagoda.
