In October 2023 we delivered lots of food for the month to the Phu Quang Orphanage. We had contacted the orphanage caretakers and learned which provisions they needed to help the children. They provided a detailed list of items, and we arranged for local markets to have it all delivered directly to the orphanage.
On the day of the delivery, the caretakers and the children brought everything into the main common room. The supplies included bags of rice, packages of milk, bird nest drink, large bottles of cooking oil, bottles of soy sauce, laundry detergent, and floor soap. We also arranged for snacks for the children.
The caretakers sent us lots of fun pictures of the children from last month, including a field trip they made to the seaside. Fun on the beach!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE
The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment. Sister Thich Nu Dieu An passed away in 2023, and the orphanage is run by the nuns of the Phu Quang pagoda.
