On July 16, 2015 we visited the Lac Thien Orphanage for a kite flying excursion. Our coordinator Mai Khanh visited Lac Thien to discuss some upcoming construction projects that we will be a part of. Through the generous donations of the McDuffie and Stewart families of Texas, USA we will be helping the orphanage to complete their kitchen, bathrooms, hallways, and exterior walls.
We never like to make a visit empty handed, however, so Mai Khanh and her friends brought flowers, snacks, and lots of kites for the orphans. They spent some time putting the kites together, and then everyone walked out to the rice fields behind the orphanage. The fields are dry in summer, which made perfect kite flying grounds. The children had so much fun!
