We headed back to Loc Tho Charity School this May, focused on keeping their kitchen fully stocked and ready to serve. Before making the trip, we collaborated with the school’s staff to pinpoint exactly what they were running low on, allowing us to fulfill their entire wish list.
The energy in the courtyard was wonderful as the kids gathered to watch us unload a massive delivery. This month, your generosity supplied the school with:
- Kitchen Staples: Bags of rice, noodles, vermicelli, flour, cooking oil, and sugar.
- Fresh Ingredients: Meats, fresh vegetables, assorted mushrooms, and seaweed.
- Quick Meals & Basics: Instant soup, fried rice, milk, and fish sauce.
- Health & Cleanliness: Hand sanitizer, cleaning products, and bathroom essentials.
Popsicles in the Courtyard
Once the heavy lifting was done, it was time for a favorite Loc Tho tradition. To celebrate the day, we treated all the students to popsicles.
The children did a fantastic job forming neat, patient lines to grab their treats. Watching them gather under the afternoon sun, enjoying their popsicles and sharing laughs with their friends, is always the absolute best part of what we do.

ABOUT THE LOC THO CHARITY SCHOOL
The Loc Tho Charity School, established in 1991 by Sister Thich Nu Dieu Y, has a long-standing history of providing free education to underprivileged children. Sister Dieu Y dedicated her life to this cause, and after her passing in 2014, the compassionate nuns of the Loc Tho Pagoda have continued her incredible work.
This primary school offers a vital service to the community, providing a free education for children whose families cannot afford public schooling. The school covers all expenses, including textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and teachers’ fees, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn. Beyond academics, Loc Tho Charity School also provides breakfast and lunch for its students and offers a nurturing home for several orphans and foster children.
