In April 2023, our team at Lovingkindness Vietnam visited the Anh Dao Orphanage. This orphanage is home to a large group of children of all ages, and we were happy to be able to bring much-needed supplies and spend time with the children.

We spoke with the head nun, Thich Nu An Son, to get a list of the items that were most needed. We then went shopping in Ninh Hoa and loaded up a truck with everything on the list.

On this visit, we brought bags of rice, soy milk, pork, beef, fish, eggs, mushrooms, vegan pork, seitan, vegan fish pies, tofu sheets, coconut, seaweed, mung beans, black beans, peanuts, sesame seeds, sugar, cooking oil, fish sauce, siracha, dish soap, cleaning products, bath soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent.

As a yummy treat, our team prepared lots of fresh fruit for all the children to enjoy. We also brought lots of kites! The children all went to the large field behind the orphanage and had lots of fun flying the kites. It was a lovely day!

We are grateful to JL Support Services for their kind donation that made this trip possible. We are also grateful to the head nun and the children of the Anh Dao Orphanage for their warm welcome and hospitality.

About the Anh Dao Orphanage

The Anh Dao Orphanage was founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son. It is located in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. The orphanage provides the children with food, shelter, clothing, education, and medical care. The children also receive love and support from the staff and volunteers.

The Anh Dao Orphanage is a place where children can thrive and grow. We are grateful for the opportunity to support this important work.
