Our February visit to the Ngoc Van Orphanage was defined by practical support and holiday cheer. To ensure our contribution was as effective as possible, we coordinated directly with the caretakers to fulfill their specific shopping list.
By sourcing items from local markets, we were able to provide a van-load of fresh supplies, including:
- Food & Kitchen: Packages of milk, jam, tea, peanuts, fish sauce, soy sauce, and essential seasonings.
- Clothing & Hygiene: New shirts for the children and a fresh supply of shampoo.
Since the visit fell during the Lunar New Year, we wanted to do a little something extra. In addition to the household essentials, our team brought along lucky red envelopes and sweet drinks for the kids. Seeing the children’s reactions to these small holiday traditions was the highlight of the trip.
This delivery was made possible by the ongoing support of our donors: Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes, Tri Phung, Vanessa Nguyen, Long Nguyen, Alysha Sims, Koshu Takatsuji, and anonymous donors. Thank you for helping us keep the shelves stocked and the spirits high this month!
ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE
Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for by the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
