On July 27, 2014 we visited the Thien Tam Orphanage with donations. Last month we received a kind donation from Chau Nguyen of the USA, and we immediately contacted our lead coordinator, Ngoc, about organizing a visit to an orphanage. We hadn’t been to Thien Tam in a while, so Ngoc put together a plan to buy foodstuff for the children. Ngoc is a full-time English teacher, and she enlisted many of her students to help with the mission. On the 27th, they all drove out to the orphanage and unloaded all of the supplies that were purchased with Chau’s donation. There were bags of rice, boxes of noodles, cooking oil, sugar, condensed milk, fish sauce, eggs, diapers, and other general supplies. Ngoc and her students also gave a cash donation to the orphanage which they had raised on their own.

Thien Tam is a small orphanage located in the countryside near Nha Trang. It is clean and well-run, and every time our volunteers visit they have an amazing experience. This time was no different. After unloading the van, Ngoc and her students sat in the orphanages common room with the children for an afternoon of games, dances, and songs. It was a wonderful visit, and  our thanks to Chau for her generous  heart.
