In August 2022 we had a great visit to the Suoi Cat Charity Home. The school year is beginning, and we told the caretakers that we would like to sponsor the children’s education. We also wanted to bring a monthly allotment of food and general supplies. The caretakers provided a list of items to bring, and our team put together a charity visit.
When we arrived, the children helped stack all the provisions in the courtyard next to the gardens. For the school term, we brought all the textbooks, notebooks, and school supplies the children will need. For general supplies, we brought boxes of instant noodles, seasonings, canned beef, vinegar, milk, yogurt drinks, cooking oil, lots of snacks, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, and toiletries.
As a fun surprise, we also brought little statues and paints for everyone to make their own creations. It was a fun arts and crafts party with lots of smiles! This charity trip was made possible through the kind donation from Cuong Nguyen. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE SUOI CAT CHARITY HOME
Suoi Cat is a poor community to the west of Nha Trang, composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Cat Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The home is composed of young children and teenage girls, who stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The children attend public school and receive tutoring and extra lessons at the home.
