In August 2022 we made a visit to the Suoi Dau Charity Home. After speaking with the caretakers, we made a detailed list of food and general supplies the home was running low on, then organized a visit. Our team in Nha Trang bought all the provisions at local markets, loaded up a van, and made the drive out to see the children.

When we arrived, the children helped carry everything into the main courtyards. On this visit, we brought boxes of ramen, cooking oil, fish sauce, macaroni noodles, milk, condensed milk, fruit juice, rice crackers, biscuits, sausages, dried shrimp, instant porridge, canned pork, seasonings, bubble tea powder, kitchen towels, knives, cutting board, laundry detergent, flood soap, toothpaste, washcloths, and cleaning products.

As a treat, our lead coordinator handed out slices of sweet cake for everyone to enjoy. This charity trip was made possible through the kindness of an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE SUOI DAU CHARITY HOME

The Suoi Dau Charity Home is located in Suoi Dau district near Suoi Cat, which are both poor communities to the west of Nha Trang composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Dau Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for a group of the community’s young boys whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The boys stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The boys all come from the ethnic Raglay minority group. Overseen by pastor Dam Nguyen, the caretakers who run the home provide a nurturing environment and ensure the children attend local public schools and provide after-school tutoring lessons.
