On October 4, 2013 we presented the Mai Am Anh Dao Orphanage with a donation to help pay school costs for this year. This was made entirely possible by Nicole and Robert Desbois, whom we met last year when they visited Nha Trang. At the time, they donated clothes to the poor children of Vietnam and pledged to raise money upon their return to Canada. Their dedication has been inspirational! They worked tirelessly to raise funds to help support the children, and this donation will enable the orphans at Anh Dao to attend school.
All of our causes are responsible for the school fees and other costs for the school-aged children, and donations such as the one made by Nicole and Robert are essential. Rather than spend a portion of the funds on renting transportation to drive to Ninh Hoa, north of Nha Trang, one of the teenage orphans drove her motorbike down to Nha Trang from Ninh Hoa, and our lead coordinator Ngoc presented her with the donation.
