In early June 2020 we had a fun visit with the children at the Sunflower Orphanage in Nha Trang. We had reached out to the orphanage’s caretakers and learned of their most immediate needs. After taking detailed notes, our team organized a shopping trip to local markets and bought everything on the list. We then arranged a visit.
We brought bags of bean varieties, packages of instant noodles, bottles of cooking oil, lots of seasonings, cans of condensed milk, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and new mops. As a fun treat, we handed out snacks to the children.
A friend of our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, brought along his dachshund, which was a big hit with everyone. The children wandered out to the courtyard to enjoy their chips and play on the orphanage’s rock garden, before heading back inside for some tutoring lessons in one of the classrooms.
This charity visit was made on behalf and in memory of Vinh-Quang Hao Nguyen.
