After a long absence, we were very happy to return to the Loc Tho Charity Home on a fun visit with the children. We coordinated this charity trip with the nuns at the pagoda and planned a fun treat for the children. When our team arrived, we prepared lots of bubble tea drinks for all the children. They lined up and everyone got a cup. So yummy!

When we arrived, the children had just finished their morning classes and were about to have lunch. While the children ate, our team brought in some general supplies the nuns had said they were running low on. This included bags of rice, milk, cooking oil, sugar, vegan pork, tofu sheets, red beans, black beans, mung beans, sesame seeds, floor soap, and dish soap.

After lunch, the children gathered in the main courtyard to thank out team. It was a great visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from  Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Thank you!!!

The Loc Tho Pagoda has had a charity school since 1991, which was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu Y.  Sister Dieu Y dedicated her life to the children and passed away in 2014. The school is now run by the amazing and loving nuns of the Loc Tho pagoda. It’s a free primary school for poor children in the community whose parents cannot afford the costs of a public education. Textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and teachers’ fees are all paid for by the school, and all children are welcome. The school provides breakfast and lunch for the students. The pagoda also cares for several orphans and foster children.
