In January 2026 we helped complete a large construction project at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. The area had suffered from torrential and devastating rains this past season, which heavily damaged the orphanage’s main courtyard. The children had to walk through a field of mud every day to get to and from school. The nuns told us they had begun repairs to the courtyard and were thrilled when we told them we would fund the project.

Workers came out throughout the month of January and finished just before the Lunar New Year. To celebrate, the children brought out skateboards, in-line skates, and caster boards to cruise up and down the smooth new courtyard. So fun!

This large project was made possible through the generous donations from Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, Carolyn Chau-Kha, Nga Vuu, Elaine Nguyen, Paul Baty, and an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
