In early August 2020 we had a lovely visit to the Lac Thien Orphanage. The COVID-19 virus had a resurgence in Vietnam, so many of the orphanages are being extra cautious and limiting visitors. Our team wore face masks during the visit for the children’s protection.

We had contacted the nuns at the orphanage ahead of time and made a detailed list of their needs. Our team bought everything at local markets, loaded up a van, and drove out to the orphanage. Upon our arrival, the children were excellent helpers, and went back and forth carrying everything into the orphanage’s common room.

On this visit, we brought boxes of instant noodles, packages of milk, racks of eggs, seasonings, brooms, diapers, and in preparation for the school year, we brought stacks of notebooks and boxes of pens. As a fun treat for the children, we brought fresh cakes from a local bakery. Everyone got a yummy slice of cake!

This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations of An Nguyen, Chau Nguyen, Tina Nguyen, Daniel Cole, Suruchi Khemka, and Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Thank you!!!
