In early April 2020 we had a lovely visit to the Phu Quang Orphanage. We coordinated with the nuns and made sure the orphanage had all the essential supplies they needed. We brought bags of rice, soaps, dried seaweed, packages of instant pho, packages of instant porridge, rice paper, vegan fish, vegan pork, bags of mung beans, seasonings, packages of noodles, and lots of fresh vegetables.

The children helped carry everything into the common room, then our team handed out balloons for playtime. Afterwards, we handed banana ice cream cakes as a yummy snack. It was a very fun visit!

This visit was made possible through a donation from the BEI Foundation. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage was a loving home for many orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The orphanage was forced to shut down for several years, and we were very happy to learn that it was up and running once again. Phu Quang is a smaller orphanage than before, and cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment.
