In March 2024 we had a fun visit with the children at the Anh Dao Orphanage. After speaking to the orphanage caretakers, we brought a big grocery list to local markets, and purchased lots of food and general supplies for the month. Next, our team loaded up a van and made the drive north to Ninh Hoa to visit the orphanage.

When we arrived, the children helped carry everything into the main common room. This month, we brought bags of rice, racks of eggs, pork, beef, shrimp, fish, varieties of mushrooms, vegan pork, vegan beef, tofu sheets, soy sauce, sugar, cooking oil, sriracha, fresh vegetables, yogurt, sesame seeds, and toiletries.

Our team then handed out sweet treats to everyone. The children had fun with their snacks while sitting on the floor of the common room. Such a lovely day!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Philip Doughty, Tri Phung, David and Trini Nguyen, Bichlien Nguyen, Daniel’s Facebook Birthday Fundraiser, and a donation in memory of Prakash Macwan. Thank you to all our donors!

ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
